Harambee Delaware

Visit www.harambeede.org The site provides a directory of funders to help increase awareness of potential sources of funding. It also includes a directory of organizations with leaders of color to better connect funders to a group of changemakers who typically receive much less support. The website provides a compilation of resources for anyone seeking more equitable philanthropy and a wide array of tools and resources for nonprofit leaders. Visit: www.harambeede.org.

  • Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement (DANA) Useful information on the nonprofit sector in Delaware 
  • Resource Guide - Grants and Foundations - University of Delaware Library offers the following resources
    • Pivot  (Available at University of Delaware's Morris Library) An international resource for information on research funding in all disciplines. The database searches select federal and state grants, and some private foundation funding. Professional associations and public charities that provide grants are also included. The content is similar to that of COS Funding Opportunities, which was phased out at the end of 2011. 
    • Foundation Directory Online Professional  (Available at University of Delaware's Morris Library and Dover Public Library) Searches all U.S. private foundations. Some corporate givers and grantmaking public charities are included. It also includes descriptions of associated grants, links to grantmaker websites and filed tax returns (Form 990 PFs).
    • Foundation Grants to Individuals Online - (Available at University of Delaware's Morris Library)  Find sources for scholarships, fellowships, grants, awards, and other financial support.  NOTE: This database can only be accessed from workstations within the Morris Library (no wireless). 
    • Nonprofit Capacity Building - Center for Community Research and Service at the University of Delaware
  • Nonprofit Resource Library -  The CCRS Nonprofit Resource Library, located in the Community Service Building, Suite 812, Wilmington, Delaware. The library holds over 2,000 volumes including books, journals, reports and census data that any member of the community may use.
  • Delaware Database for Funding Resilient Communities - Institute for Public Administration at the University of Delaware A database of financial assistance programs that support the implementation of resiliency-building plans and projects in Delaware.
  • Making the Case for Tech: A Nonprofit Pitch Kit Tech Impact's tech pitch kit that includes worksheets to help you gather information about your project, identify your audience, prioritize benefits, connect them to your organization’s mission, and calculate Return On Investment (ROI) 

  • The Newark Partnership - Nonprofit Enhancement Committee aims to foster growth and address the needs of the City of Newark's nonprofit sector. Click here for more information. 
  • Candid - previously Guide Star and Foundation Center
    • Funding Information Network - Candid's network of libraries, community foundations, and other nonprofit resource centers providing database access and support to local nonprofits.
    • 990 Finder by Candid -  Search database of individual 990 forms of private foundations, public charities, and other nonprofits. 
    • IssueLab by Candid  -  Free research on social sector organizations around the world. 30+ issue areas including:                                                                  Arts & Culture, Health, Human Rights, Science, Women, etc.
